Community

As a practice, we follow the principles of Fear Free, which means all pets are treated with kindness, dignity, and respect, with time taken to make them feel welcome and to try to alleviate stress of future visits. We aim to be friendly and approachable for clients and believe in being there for pets and their owners for the whole journey, not just when their pet is ill or injured.
Community champions
From all three sites, we work tirelessly to engage in the community and to offer support in any way that we can.
Carena, one of our RVNs, is a community nurse and works beside the local schools with our EPIC awards (Exceptional Person In the Community) - this has been running since 2021, and some very deserving people have won this award.
We support "Open All Hours", the local South Queensferry youth group, which is run entirely by volunteers - this year we have donated footballs, basketballs and arts & crafts equipment to keep them entertained.
In 2022, we initiated the "Hugo's Heroes Award" - this is award to an animal which has carried out an amazing feat of bravery. This was named after Hugo, a black Labrador, who saved his owner after her fell into Linlithgow Loch and nearly drowned.
We also have our Local Hero Awards, which has been running since 2020, and recognises acts of kindness in the local community.
