The health and wellbeing of our people are always a top priority. We are committed to fostering a positive mindset in all aspects of work and ensuring our team feels supported both personally and professionally.

We hold regular meetings where everyone is encouraged to share any issues or concerns, creating space for open conversation and practical solutions. Beyond the workplace, many of our team have built genuine friendships – often heading to gigs together, enjoying camping trips, and supporting each other in everyday life.

Wellbeing champions
At Staveley Vets, both physical and mental health are well supported. We regularly hold meetings for nurses and vets alike, fostering a strong support system that keeps the whole team connected and working efficiently together. Some days can be physically and mentally demanding, especially when unexpected emergencies arise, requiring all staff to go above and beyond to care for unwell pets. Having a network of colleagues—and valued friends—truly makes all the difference!

-Regular Team Meetings & Check-Ins: We hold scheduled meetings for both vets and nurses to encourage open communication, ensure workloads are manageable, and provide an opportunity to discuss challenges and share support.
-Peer Support & Mentoring: Staff are encouraged to build strong networks within the workplace, creating an environment where colleagues can offer guidance, reassurance, and friendship, which helps reduce stress and build resilience.
-Flexible Work Practices: Recognizing the demands of veterinary work, we implement flexible scheduling when possible to help staff balance professional responsibilities with personal life.
-Emergency Support Protocols: During particularly demanding days or unexpected emergencies, the team rallies together, ensuring that no one faces high-pressure situations alone, and everyone receives support both during and after these events.
-Health & Wellness Awareness: We encourage awareness of both physical and mental health, providing access to resources, guidance, and external support services when needed.
