Community

We are a great beliver in community and it remains an important aspect in our day-to-day operations. Swadlincote has a very diverse local community made up of lots of families, elderly clients and young professionals. We offer services to meet all the needs of our clients. As much as 95% of our work is on-site, we do have a mobile van to enable us to deliver Bright Side services to those who may have mobility issues or simply can not get into the practice. We are active within the local community working, alongside and promoting B-to-B relations. This may be as simple as offering promotions to clients that share similar service providers, supporting other local independent business likes grooming or kennels, or simply using a local independent coffee shop to supply our 'nosh' for lunch and learn. We often have a stall at local community events and festivals. Not only does this cement our brand within the community but it is great for promotions and marketing. We work with several local charities offering discounted services to be their main service provider, these include 'Wonky pets' and 'Harley hounds'. We also support larger, well known charities such as CPL. We offer Care Free Credit for low income families, or those on a budget as well as direct claims for certain insurance companies, again to help with clients 'budgeting. Jason, the practice manager has a breadth of experience in sustainability and is always looking for new ways to improve the practice through sustainable methods and recycling.
Community champions
We support local charities through fund rising. Examples of this include a sponsored walk for 'Mobility May' where we invited clients to join us on an hours local walk than regroup at the practice to buy cakes, kindly made by staff during 'our great Bright-Side-Bake- off'. Another example is sponsoring the local fire station and providing them with pet oxygen masks to use specifically for pets in house fires, this initiative is called 'Smokey paws'. We also support wildlife, working with a local hedgehog rescue. Lastly we work with a rabbit and Guinea pig rescue centre that travel a reasonable distance for our 'rabbit-friendly services'.
