Wellbeing

We have been actively trying to make changes to our day to day within the practice to allow more time within the working day to complete our tasks and goals. This alongside the ability to fully work up our cases has massively improved job satisfaction. It allows staff to be able to leave work on time and with a clearer head. The ability to switch off from work to fully enjoy personal time is very important to us all. We live in such a beautiful part of the world and breathing in that fresh sea air really does make all the difference.

We also do weekly yoga which the whole team enjoy.
Wellbeing champions
We have our own wellbeing champion Fran who is a very approachable member of our team. She is there to listen to everyone whenever they are struggling or just want a little moan. She does love a natter and a cup of tea. She helps reassure and support the team but can also help ensure they have access to any necessary additional support by directing colleagues to relevant services including appropriate professional help if necessary.

She can also support line managers to recognise changing employee behaviours which may be related to stress or mental health.

Wellbeing initiatives
We have Flexible working hours and Special leave arrangements. We do have lots working mums within the practice and appreciate that the long days and weeks just don't work so we do jiggle rotas around to accommodate.

We encourage the team to log any overtime to ensure they get their precious time back. We really don't want the team overworked but the unpredictability of the job means we actively monitor overtime.

The practice has access to training for all employees including Stress and Mental Health Awareness, Resilience Training and self-care methods which may include Mindfulness. The wider company has an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) providing free, confidential advice and counselling available 24/7.
