Team engagement
Being independent means we can all work together in the same environment; the managers are our colleagues and known personally as opposed to being a name or an entity at the end of an email only.
Staff's needs are identified quickly as decision-makers are involved at every level and the communication chain is so small and closely linked.
Conversations are encouraged at all times, and further opportunities to discuss improvements are at our monthly "continuing improvement meetings" wherein we follow a structure with accountability to address "quick & easy", "projects" and "client journey" suggestions.
We have regular appraisals, where strengths and goals are discussed to encourage your professional development as you desire also.

Team building
The Bay Vets team is its greatest asset. Every individual is passionate and friendly, so are united in their work.
We encourage brew breaks twice a day, with time away from consultations dedicated to ensuring everyone can partake in 15 minutes together morning and afternoon.
There are often events arranged by the team themselves; being located opposite a pub with good food, near a chippy and sandwich bar helps! It may be that a meet-up over the road after work is arranged, that someone nips to the chippy to collect lunch for everyone, or that we get hot breakfast buns delivered (pay-day "butty" Friday).
As a company we also arrange team-building occasions. We have had curling lessons, completed an escape room, been bowling, held a ceilidh, and organised a garden party in summer for all staff and partners so everyone got to know each other better. The Christmas Party is notoriously wild and the talk of the teams from as early as October...
We love meeting up and having fun outside of work, it means we know each other better and collaborate well inside of work as a result. Our jobs are stressful, and being able to wind-down off the clock helps us all.
