Endometriosis Awareness Month with Westport Vets
Westport Vets are very proud to be an Endometriosis Friendly Employer, and this year the theme is "Endometriosis Doesn't Wait".
With the theme being "Endometriosis Doesn't Wait", this is to highlight the fact that it really doesn't wait for anything: Endometriosis doesn’t wait whilst you’re trying to get a diagnosis or access care; it doesn’t wait for your career; your education; your social life or your relationships. People who suffer with this will tell you on all the things they have to push through that can then take them time to recover from pushing themselves - fun times with friends and family that they've had to miss out on due to having a flare up that you can't control.
RVN Lauren and South Queensferry receptionist Hannah, two of our Endometriosis Champions, are leading our fundraising campaign this month for the charity. They started this month by doing a presentation at The Priory Church in South Queensferry where they spoke to the congregation about this condition and what they are doing to raise awareness about it. They then joined everyone for some tea and biscuits where they could speak some more about it at a more personal level. Both Lauren and Hannah were thrilled to be invited along and were very thankful for the opportunity to be welcomed in with open arms.
Throughout the month, they'll be wearing yellow to support the charity, as well as hosting a raffle with some amazing prizes donated from local businesses in South Queensferry and Linlithgow (where two of our branches are based).
They are also hosting a Tea for Endo morning at the Garden Room at The Priory Church on the 21st March, 9.30am-1pm. Everyone is invited along and we encourage people to bring their family and friends, and to spread the word as much as they can. There is a Just Giving page set up as well for those just wanting to donate.

We look forward to seeing as many people as we can!
What we're doing as a practice
Westport Vets are proud to be an Endometriosis Friendly Employer, and are commited to helping our colleagues that suffer with endometriosis. The Endometriosis Friendly Employer scheme is a way for us as employers to confirm our commitment to developing a work environment and culture that enables our employees with endometriosis to thrive at work. Through the scheme, Endometriosis UK provides guidance for employers on how to support employees with endometriosis and menstrual health conditions, and work towards improving the work environment.
