Worklife and reward
Onboarding
As a small practice we can easily individualise onboarding depending on experience and familiarity with our PMS and equipment.
Breaks
The nurse and reception rotas have administrative time built in and colleagues collaborate with each other giving and taking this time to make sure everyone has enough time depending on their current workload. Nursing and reception lunch breaks are in their rota and are adhered to except in exceptional circumstances.
The consulting vet usually has 2 hours between Morning and afternoon consultations, allowing time for lunch and administration. There is a 15 minute break in the morning and afternoon consultations for a break. We don't double book appointments. The operating vet can organise their own breaks and lunch around natural breaks in their list. We do not overbook.

Equal and transparent pay
There is a basic rate of pay, which is reviewed every year in May and pay rises are implemented in June. I use the SPVS's salary surveys as a guide for this. There is an additional amount added to this for each years experience with a ceiling of 5 years and an additional amount for each years service at Daventry Veterinary Clinic.
Family friendly
We currently do not have any team members with young families. In the past I have accommodated drop offs to childcare with later starts, set lates and reduced hours. Other possibilities are some hours home working for phone calls to clients and administration.
