Job description
About the Job

So, we could list all the reasons why you will like working at Bright Side Vets but…
• it's a given that we have all the toys (including laparoscopic/ endoscopic kit) to enable you to perform your job to the best of your abilities.
• It’s a given we have an amazing team; you wouldn’t get past a probationary period if we weren't the right fit for you or you weren't the right fit for us. Our team host a wide variety of interests, experience and hair styles.
• It’s a given that we have lovely clients - but we are not shy about sacking a client if they are rude! With that said we pride ourselves on customer service and retention for case continuity. Our client care is what makes us different to others – high clinical standards are a given but excellence in customer service is where we shine.

What’s the benefits of working for an independent practice?
Firstly, we have autonomy to tailor a package that suits your needs and those of the business needs. A rota with flexi working, condensed hours or job share; a variety of perks that we review frequently with the team and the salary is tailored to the individual. Essentially, we look for the win-win with you!
We run a well organised ship. Making sure there is time in the diary for clinical meetings, appropriately timed consults, fair sharing of ops and consult blocks…oh and you will get a 1-hour lunch break pretty much every shift. We invest in our people so protect time in our day diary for clinical meetings, in-house training and monthly one-to-one catch ups.

Your wellbeing is important to us. How can you give 100% to your clients and patients if you are not 100%? We recognise the role we play in this, so we have a dedicated member of staff as an in-house wellbeing guru! Sadly, this does not extend to yoga classes and a wine bar in the staff room (well not yet any way….). You can, however, use your CPD budget on wellbeing sessions with this in mind.
Benefits
CPD budget: £2500 per annum
The reality is that we feel your development is critical and therefore if you want to do something that is outside of the budget, we will have a chat about how we can help achieve this. CPD budget is proportional to hours worked

Hours: No our of hours
1 in 4 Saturdays
Flexible working is on offer including condensed hours, shared job

Holiday: 28days including bank holidays (when we are closed anyway)
You can add up to an additional 10days leave to your allowance after you have been with us for a while…plus we let you buy and sell holiday so you can get more (or make some cash if you don’t need it).

Other: Relocation package available
Private medical insurance plus a wide range of other benefits.

About you

Experience required
  • Any experience considered
Personal attributes and qualities
So, what do we look for in a new crew member?

We strive to be dynamic and different so we don’t do the formal, traditional interviews. We want to understand the person we might be working and we want you to come along, meet the crew and allow us to get to know each other. We believe in employing a person into our team that shares the same values as us. Curious what they might be? What have you got to lose by coming for a chat with coffee and cake on us?

If you need the details, peek at our website, or stalk us on Facebook. There you will see we can conform where it matters too and have lots of shiny awards and accreditation within the industry as well.
Specific experience, knowledge and competencies
Gaps in your experience?
Not to worry we believe we have the knowledge and structure to teach and support you. We encourage vets/nurses to progress and master skills particularly in areas where they are keen to develop. Whether you are recently graduated or have experience, we are supportive of training and development.

For new grads, we understand how scary it is out in the big wide world of vetting and how important your first 12months of development are (and after that for that matter). So, our structured induction and training approach will ensure you have the support you need when you need it.
