Happy 10th Birthday to us!
Today marks 10 years since John and Laura got the keys to Greenbay Veterinary Surgery.
This week marks 10 years since John and Laura took on Greenbay Vets from retiring vet Jo Turner. We continue to be grateful she chose to sell to us and not a big corporate, allowing the practice to continue being family owned and run. We are really proud of the team and practice, and thankful to all our wonderful pet owners who entrust us with the care of their pets.
In the 10 years since we took on Greenbay we have continually invested in new equipment, training and services to better look after the pets of Torbay. Here are just some of the services we have introduced:
- Expert nurse clinics (behaviour, nutrition, physiotherapy and rehabilitation).
- Keyhole surgery and endoscopy.
- Advanced orthopaedic and soft tissue surgery.
- Advanced ultrasound.
- An exotic pet service, working with Dr Ian Sayers.
- Dental x-ray.
- Regenerative medicine (stem cell and PRP treatments for arthritis).
We have added ultrasound, lab machines and x-ray to our Paignton site, so more can be done there without the need for patients to travel. We have also become accredited by the RCVS Practice Standards Scheme, the ISFM cat friendly clinic scheme, the Dogs Trust dog friendly clinic scheme and the RWAF rabbit friendly clinic scheme!
Over the past 10 years we have doubled the team at Greenbay to accommodate a growing demand for our services. A big shout out to Caz, Laura Sproul and Katie who have been with us since the beginning.
During the past decade we have shared so many wonderful team achievements, too many to list but here are some highlights…
- We have trained multiple veterinary nurses – seeing them qualify and following their progress as they start their careers is wonderful.
- We have supported many of the team with further qualifications with medicine, surgery and cardiology certificate holders amongst our vet team, and RVNs with additional qualifications in nutrition, behaviour, emergency and critical care, feline nursing and physio/rehab. Receptionist Donna has done pet bereavement training and is currently studying for her BVRA iPET Network Level 3 Certification.
- We have opened our doors to huge numbers of work experience students, several of whom now work with us! Finding out students have got a place at vet school, or are pursuing their dream of veterinary nursing is great.
- Team members clubbing together to raise money for charity.
Here's to the next 10!
