EMS grant win for Jane!

We were thrilled to see one of our EMS students, Jane, has won the July Meraki EMS grant.

Jane submitted a photo of her placing an IV catheter in a dog that had a grass seed in its ear, which needed to be removed.

Here is some of her feedback from the placement.
“With guidance from the vets and nurses throughout my placement, I refined my IV technique and catheter bandaging skills. This was my first clinical placement and, I was given a lot of encouragement, support and opportunity from the team to practice my clinical skills, which was amazing! I did a lot of my ‘firsts’ here and I will forever be grateful to the team.”

Jane added:
“In my first week, some of the team and I went off to a nearby pub for food and drinks after work. This made me feel included and like I was part of the team. It helped me open up and be more confident, especially in clinical discussions while on placement.”

We are so pleased you enjoyed your placement with us, Jane, and look forward to welcoming you back next year!
