Celebrating more team achievements

Vets Laura and Richard have been successful in their applications for Advanced Practitioner Status, and RVN Ellen has passed her certificate with distinction!

We are pleased to share the news that two of our vets were recently successful in their applications to join the RCVS list of Advanced Practitioners.  ‘Advanced Practitioner’ is an official recognition of a veterinary surgeon’s particular knowledge and skills in a designated field of veterinary practice. Richard’s designated field is ‘small animal medicine’ and Laura’s is ‘small animal cardiology’.  They join John, who is an advanced practitioner in small animal surgery, and Ian whose area of expertise is exotic pets and zoo species.

RVN Ellen has also passed her certificate in emergency and critical care with distinction!

With her passion for emergency and critical care Ellen has led a number of initiatives within the practice including:

  • Reviewing our CPR protocols and creating easier to follow guides and flow-charts. She is responsible for keeping records of 'crash' drills and ensuring the team are confident handling these stressful and difficult situations.
  • Creating patient triage sheets to help nurses triage emergency patients.
  • Reviewing our hospitalisation charts, creating ones specifically for more intensive patients.

We love supporting our team pursue their individual interests for the benefit of our patients, clients and colleagues!
