2025 CPD round-up

Our team have attended lots of exciting CPD this year, furthering their skills and increasing the services we can provide.

Greenbay owner Laura's recent attendance at the fabulous 50th anniversary Veterinary Cardiovascular Society conference prompted the idea for a blog summarising our team's 2025 CPD - it has been a busy one!

An idea from a previous cardiology CPD meeting, this year RVN Nicky completed cardiology CPD to become the practice's dedicated 'cardiology nurse', assisting owners with monitoring and treatment of their patient's heart disease. RVN Heather is approaching the completion of her advanced anaesthesia certificate.

This year we launched our new CT scanning service, so several of the vets and veterinary nurses have undergone CPD covering image acquisition and processing, as well as image interpretation. We also launched a canine underwater treadmill hydrotherapy service, with head veterinary nurse Caz leading this and undergoing intensive external training. Nurses Laurie and Libby are also being trained up to assist with this service.

New graduate Hasita has attended consultation skills CPD, as well as practical surgery days covering emergency abdominal surgery.

Vet Michelle has completed a veterinary acupuncture course, and can now offer this service to our patients. She also wanted to improve her dentistry skills and is attending a practical dentistry course next month.

Vet Jemma embarked on her ECC certificate with BSAVA, and John continues to build on his surgical skills, attending a spinal surgery course earlier this year to complement our new advanced imaging capabilities.

Not forgetting our reception team, Donna is nearing completion of her 2-year British Veterinary Receptionist Assosication qualification.

We are hugely supportive of CPD, whether it is clinical or non-clinical, from online courses to conferences to further qualifications. With no fixed individual budgets to work with our team are free to approach us with any ideas for what they feel they would find beneficial.
