Leading with Compassion: Promotion to Head Nurse
A great start to the new year for Lauren, our new Head Veterinary Nurse!
We’re delighted to celebrate some fantastic news — one of our RVNs has received a well-deserved promotion.
After qualifying in 2021 with a BSc Veterinary Nursing degree from Middlesex University, Lauren joined Filey Veterinary Practice in 2022. Towards the end of 2025, Lauren received the exciting news that she had been promoted to Head Veterinary Nurse.
In her new role, Lauren will be working closely alongside Kim as Head Nurses to help lead and support our nursing team, as well as play a key role in the day-to-day operational management of the practice. This includes overseeing areas such as stock control, regulatory compliance, and helping ensure that our clinical and administrative systems continue to run smoothly and safely for both our team and our patients.
Lauren’s promotion is very well deserved. She consistently demonstrates exceptional organisational skills and has a real talent for managing complex tasks efficiently and calmly. She is quick to learn, adaptable to change, and always willing to take on new challenges — qualities that are invaluable in a busy, evolving veterinary practice.
Just as importantly, Lauren is a supportive and positive presence within the team. Her commitment to high standards of patient care, her professionalism, and her ability to work collaboratively with colleagues make her a huge asset to the practice.
When we spoke with our Clinical Director and Veterinary Surgeon, Lauren Hamstead, about Lauren's promotion, she had this to say:
“We are incredibly proud to see Lauren take this next step into a leadership role. Her dedication and skills have always stood out, and we have no doubt she will excel as Head Nurse. Congratulations, Lauren — and thank you for everything you do for the team and our patients.”
