The role
Location
We have three sites across North Derbyshire / Nottinghamshire and are looking for a vet who is able to work between them if possible (though this is flexible).
How the role has come about
We are seeking an experienced clinician (18m+ small animal clinical practice) to join our team and ease the clinical load on Sean & James to facilitate them moving into hybrid leadership & clinical roles. This will support the next stage of our team and practice growth. We both love teaching, James lectures at The University of Nottingham and Sean coaches our recent graduates with their surgical skills.
Job description
We are a group of three, busy, first opinion practices with a very varied caseload. We are independently owned by Sean & James who are also vets across our sites. We treat our patients as we would a relative's pet!
We currently have more than 100 years of combined experience between the 10 vets, ranging from 6 months to 30 years qualified!
Happy for FT or PT applicants - we have both within our current team. :)

About you
Experience required
- 1 – 3 years
Personal attributes and qualities
We are a mad bunch. Lots of us have tattoos and piercings. Some have brightly coloured hair. We all swear too much. All of our team pets are pains in the arse, intent on needing veterinary attention on our weekends off! We have pool players, footballers, long-distance walkers, rock climbers, dancers, quiz masters, gig-goers & sofa snugglers. Many of our conversations are not repeatable at home. If this doesn't deter you, we want you!!
Specific experience, knowledge and competencies
Confident communication, empathy and the ability to work within our high-performing team are essential attributes.
Competency in routine surgical procedures and first opinion consultations.
The main benefit of working within our group of independent practices is the ability to effect change- we have seen our clinical standards greatly improve since opening, spearheaded by the team members who have joined us on this journey. Our key drivers are providing high-quality veterinary care with good value- working alongside our clients to meet their needs within their budget.
Ideal candidates would have an interest in career progression within the business. We opened our third site, Ravensdale Vets, in August 2024 with its own Clinical Director who is leading the practice in her direction, supported by Sean, James and the ethos of our group.
